Logitech QuickCam Communicate STX SE on Linux

Been a while since I last used a webcam with Linux. Bought me a new one the other day in hope that it will work (Media Markt’s offer to return it within a fortnight should it not work convinced me though). Just for Google to find it: The Logitech QuickCam Communicate STX SE works perfectly on Linux (i386 Fedora 9) with the UVC driver. But what I read on the cam’s package when I was at home: it even states that it would work with Linux. Duh.

    Don’t upgrade: it’s broken in later kernel/newer F versions!

(at least, from experience, skype on F10 and Slackware 12.2 and Sabayon4 – used to be perfect with Fedora7, never had it to run on F9)
